Our photos from the Modified Tour’s September 3 visit to West Virginia Motor Speedway are now posted to our gallery.
It did not take long for Dave Murdick, the 2001 BRP/Hoosier Tire Modified Tour Champion, to adapt to West Virginia Motor Speedway. Just one of three drivers to take advantage of the open practice session held at the Speedplant on Thursday night before round one of the Hillbilly Hustle, Murdick swept to his third victory of the 2010 Modified Tour season, earning the points lead in the process.
Although Murdick said that he had his “basic” set-up in the car for the new venue, “the practice session let us get our gear figured out.” “We pretty much go with the same set-up everywhere.” He explained, “we use the same spring package, maybe some wedge adjustment.” But, he added, “it also let us know what the track was going to do a little bit.”
